Chess academies and teaching centres in Tashkent 17

Teaching is the core of chess in Tashkent, and much of it is paid, after-school and aimed at children. SkyChess runs branches in Qiyot, Chilonzor, Yunusobod and Sebzor and prints one fee list for all of them, by age group and month. City Chess, on Taras Shevchenko street near Aybek metro, teaches groups of four to eight and runs a long numbered rapid series. The International Chess Academy on Ankhor Buyi, formed in 2019 from the republic’s specialised children’s chess school, is the national training base and the venue of rated tournaments.

The rest are children’s learning centres where chess is one course among several, such as Katta Tanaffus and Geniuses, both offering a trial lesson. Several centres are known only from a business directory’s chess category; their cards stay unconfirmed until a dated page of their own shows chess there.
